Overview
The Smoky Mountain conferences were some of the first sites to use this template. Since then, many other conferences have used this template, making it the most common template used by Web Services clients.
The template features built in pages for speakers, events, a schedule, optional front page blocks, and photo and document galleries.

An example of one type of gallery which can be featured.
Presentations can be added and uploaded after the conference is over. The thumbnails could also be icons instead of photos.
Presentations can be added as a table also.
Home Page Blocks
Announcements can appear on the front page using the Latest News block.
A full width section can be added to the home page as a call to action. You could link to maps, as is done here, or have a contact or registration button.
A list of sponsors or vendors can also be featured on the home page.
